This is a southern favourite that seems to confuse the northerners. It is steak that has been fried in the style of chicken. Got it? Sometimes called Country Fried Steak, but not around these parts.
Basically round steak or similar cut is takaen and beaten thin, battered and then fried in oil until golden brown. It should be served on a plate with some mashed potatos and smothered in cream gravy.
Around these parts we also like to eat Chicken Fried Steak sandwiches. The same basic battered and fried meat on a bun with some lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Quite tasty.
