For most people this is an easy subject. They own a car it might be new, old, financed, paid for, blue, orange, or what have you. For us this gets a little more complicated.
It used to be that we drove what we could afford. As it happened it was a lucky day if we could afford a $400 car, insurance, gas and keep it running. We have had quite a few cars through the years. The ones that have come and gone:
- 72 VW Super Beatle Auto-Stick (blew the engine)
- 76 Pontiac Gran Prix (why did I stop driving this boat?)
- 7? Datsun B210 (ran it till the clutch gave out)
- 80 Chevy Monte Carlo
- 74 Chevy Vega
- 79 Subaru wagon (drove into the dirt, actually a mailbox on the ice)
- 7? Toyota Corolla ($250 drove it until it died and sold it for $50)
- 80 Triumph Spitfire (british cars are too expensive and finicky to actually drive)
- 8? Chevy Chevette
- 8? Mercury ?
- 67 VW Bug Baja (sold it while I was in Chicago)
- 79 Dodge Van (took me to Chicago where it was wrecked)
- 8? Chevy Celebrity
- 84 Renault Alliance
- 88 Toyota MR2 (traded it for more vehicles)
- '81 Datsun B310
- '94 Nissan Truck (to Jack)
- '79 Chevy LUV (to Charlie)
